Training Structure

Job Role – Scaffolding Trainee

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Erect modify and dismantle scaffolding systems
  • Always work in a safe, efficient and diligent manner, ensuring compliance with the site specific SWMS
  • Participate in Tool Box meetings
  • Maintain housekeeping at all times
  • Report any incidents or near misses immediately to your site supervisor
  • Wear the correct PPE at all times
  • Inspect scaffolding at the close of business each day and ensure that all incomplete areas are closed off with    a hard barrier with the appropriate signage. 
  • Complete all relevant site specific documentation as required and submit to the appropriate personnel.

  • Certificate III in Scaffolding Traineeship (inclusive of Basic and Intermediate scaffold licence)


Certificate III in Scaffolding

The Certificate III in Scaffolding is a nationally accredited training program from the training package for Civil Construction. The trade outcomes in scaffolding will allow trainees to work in both residential and commercial scaffolding industries.


Duration and Delivery Methodology

6 months – 24 months, made up of:

  • 15 + days face to face with a Trainer Assessor
  • Onsite training visits by trainer
  • Self-paced activities and online assessments
  • Mandated Workplace Health and Safety High Risk Work Licence outcomes

13 units of competency:

9 core units:

CPCCCM1012A – Work effectively and sustainably in the construction industry
CPCCCM1013A – Plan and organise work
CPCCCM1014A – Conduct workplace communication
CPCCCM1015A – Carry out measurements and calculations
CPCCCM2001A – Read and interpret plans and specifications
CPCCOHS2001A – Apply OHS requirements, policies and procedures in the construction industry

Scaffolding – basic and intermediate field of work

CPCCSC2001A – Safely handle and use scaffolding tools and equipment
CPCCLSF2001A – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding basic level
CPCCLSF3001A – Licence to erect, alter and dismantle scaffolding intermediate level

4 elective units:

CPCCCM2007B – Use explosive power tools
CPCCCM2010B – Work safely at heights
CPCCCM3001C – Operate elevated work platforms
CPCCLDG3001A – Licence to perform dogging
TLILIC0003 – Licence to operate a forklift truck
TLILIC0005 – Licence to operate a boom-type elevating work platform (boom length 11 metres or more)
