In the spirit of reconciliation, Make Shift Happen acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of country throughout Australia and their connections to land, sea and community. We pay our respect to their elders past and present and extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people today.

We engage and empower First Nation’s communities and individuals by providing community resources through support, mentoring, training, employment placement and funding.

These initiatives and resources also support our clients to fulfil the requirements of their Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP).

We are a collaboration of strengths driven from our partners; First Nations experienced VET (Vocational Education & Training) organisations, VTEC (Vocational Training and Employment Centre) & Job Active agencies and RTOs (Registered Training Organisation).

Make Shift Happen also provides necessities such as PPE (Personal Protection Equipment) and tools.

Our goal is to train, mentor and provide sustainable employment opportunities for First Nations people to ensure the skills attained will provide onboarding opportunities in the maintenance and construction industries both internally and abroad.

We align life goals, provide objective planning and support towards career paths and outcomes that are achievable and maintainable for our First Nation’s communities, whilst acknowledging, celebrating and preserving cultural heritage.

Mentoring

At Make Shift Happen, our mentors are the essential cogs who empower candidates throughout their journey.

They help all candidates navigate through job prospects and provide continuous support throughout their career pathway.

Ultimately, our goal is that every participant gains the knowledge and skills to enable them to go on to mentor future generations across all communities.
